This event has occurred
The galleries at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at Northwest Florida State College will be the debut venue for the Florida Visual Arts Fellowship Exhibition in 2010. Patrons will be the first in the state to see this important exhibition, which runs January 17 through February 21, 2010. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
The Florida Art Museum Directors Association and Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs have partnered to present a traveling exhibition of artwork from the states Individual Artist Fellowship Program. This exhibition, which will be on view in the McIlroy and Holzhauer Galleries, features the work of the recipients of the 2008 award.
The Individual Artist Fellowship Program awards Florida's individual artists with monetary fellowship awards in recognition of their outstanding work and superb talent. The program has been promoting artistic excellence and supporting Florida artists and their work since 1976. The artists included in this exhibition work in a variety of two- and three-dimensional media, and are leaders in the art world, both in Florida and on the national stage. The artists chosen for Fellowship awards were reviewed in a highly competitive process by a panel of their peers that considered both artist portfolio and career achievement.
There will be no Preview Reception for this exhibition.
Gallery hours for the exhibit are Monday to Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 pm and 90 minutes prior to most performances in the main stage theater of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center. For information, contact the gallery office at (850) 729-6044.
