The Art Galleries at Northwest Florida State College's Mattie Kelly Arts Center present the 25th Southeast Regional Juried Fine Arts Exhibition and 2016 Best in Show Winner, Walter W. Perrott from January 21 – March 3, 2017 on display in both Galleries.

Northwest Florida State College and the Mattie Kelly Arts Center are pleased to present the 25th Southeast Regional Juried Fine Arts Exhibition in the McIlroy Gallery. This juried exhibition perennially attracts top artistic talent from across the United States and showcases works in a variety of media. 2017 presented a particularly competitive field, with almost 300 works submitted for adjudication. Just 55 paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, and digital works were chosen for exhibition. More than $3,000 in prizes was awarded to the top works of art in the exhibition.

This year’s juror and judge of prizes was Jennifer McComas, PhD, Curator of European and American Art at the Eskenazi Art Museum in Bloomington, Indiana.

On view concurrently in the Holzhauer Gallery are works by Walter W. Perrott of Destin, whose photograph, "Home Sweet Home", won Best of Show in the 24th Southeast Regional (2016).

Perrott’s works on display reflect an interest in the photographic medium that has spanned more than four decades, throughout his career as a radiologist. His photographs have been exhibited throughout the Florida Panhandle and in Atlanta, Georgia, and Pueblo, Colorado. He has led photography workshops in Santa Fe, New Mexico and throughout the Southwest.

Both exhibitions free and open to the public. Gallery Hours are Monday to Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 90 minutes prior to most Mainstage and Sprint Theater Performances.

The Galleries are located in the Art Wing of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center on the Niceville, FL campus of Northwest Florida State College (100 College Boulevard, East). The Art Wing is directly adjacent to the Mainstage Theater -- across the Seven Dancers sculpture courtyard. For Gallery Information, call (850) 729-6044.
