Cast Named for Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew" at OWC
Mattie Kelly Arts Center
1/2/07 - Okaloosa-Walton College has named the cast for Shakespeare's comedy, "The Taming of the Shrew" which will be the college's spring theatrical production.
The male lead role, Petruchio, will be played by Bob Whittaker, and the female lead, Kate, will be played by Christa Whittaker, both of Fort Walton Beach. Christa Whittaker most recently appeared at OWC in the lead role of Annie in summer '05 production of "Annie Get Your Gun" and she is the drama teacher at Fort Walton Beach High School.
In other roles, from Crestview, the role of Lucentio will be played by David Taylor, Gremio by Joshua Long, and as Biondello Nalia Bauer. From DeFuniak Springs, Bruce Culpepper will play the role of Curtis and the Pedant, Cynthia Rhodes will play the Tailor and the Widow, and Michelle Rhodes will play Walter and the Haberdasher. From Fort Walton Beach, Bianca by Chelsea Sorenson, Tranio by Rachel Hoskins, and Baptista's servant/Nathaniel/Officer by Danielle Gadsden. From Niceville, Hortensio will be played by Robert Drake, Danny Thomas as Grumio, and Ron Altman as Vincentio.
The play will be presented the Sprint Theater of The Arts Center on the OWC Niceville campus Wednesday, March 21 through Saturday, March 24 with a matinee and evening show on March 24.
