NWFSC Flute Quintet in Concert December 5 & 6

11/16/2009 - The flute quintet ''Furioso 5'' of Northwest Florida State College will perform twice in concert in December. The flutists will perform on Saturday, December 5 at 2:00 pm at the Destin Library, located at 150 Sibert Avenue. The performance is part of a special benefit for the Harvest House hosted by the Destin Library. Concert attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and toiletries to donate to the organization.
The flutists will perform again on Sunday, December 6 at 2:00 p.m. in the Tyler Recital Hall of the Mattie Kelly Fine & Performing Arts Center at NWFSC in Niceville. The concert is free and open to the public.
The ''Furioso 5'' quintet is made up of local flutists, including both students and adults. It uses many of the members of the flute family, including piccolo, concert flute, alto flute, and bass flute. For more information about the concerts or joining the flute choir, call the conductor, Robin Horne at 243-2609, or the NWFSC Fine Arts Office at 729-5382. The Mattie Kelly Arts Center at NWFSC in Niceville is easily accessible via the Mid-Bay Bridge, Interstate 10 and state highways 85 and 285.
